Track Alarms & Proactively Alert

Gottwald's mobile harbor crane produces a vast array of alarm and production data which can greatly improve reliability aiding in preventing or debugging equipment failure. Presently this information is locked away within the mobile harbor crane and can only be accessed from the electrical room when the crane is not in operation. Harbor Telematics' Crane Data System (CDS) opens this vault of information to maintenance and operations staff by providing this data to authorized personnel in real time without affecting crane operations or requiring physical presence on the crane. Features, such as alarm notifications, allow cranes to be configured to automatically alert maintenance personnel when issues take place, for example, when specific breakers are tripped or filters reach preset percent polluted level. Production information such as crane cycles, TEU throughput, or tons of material moved can be viewed or exported to Excel for a given crane and time period.

Customers using the system have seen dramatic increases in the frequency of alarm review by maintenance and operations personnel without causing any interruption to crane production. Increase monitoring has manifested savings in preventable part failures, quicker diagnostics of hardware failures, and decreased overall crane downtime.

Alarm History Search Alarm History Search
Users may search alarm history by crane or alarm code for any specified date range. The search results can then be sorted by any field such as crane name or equipment code. This data can also be exported to Microsoft Excell or Microsoft Access.

Automatic Alarm Notification Setup Automatic Alarm Notification
Each user has the ability to specify specific alarms for notification. When a specified alarm or group of alarms is triggered, an email is automatically sent to the user. This allows users to be immediately notified of issues on specific cranes.

Personnel can monitor for alarms which could result in a cranes removal from production activities such as "100% clogged filters" or "wind speed".

Automatic Alarm Notification Setup Alarm Summaries
Gottwald's mobile harbor cranes produce alarm codes that have varying importance to operations. Some of the alarms, such as the "safe overload alarm", have little effect on production. Alarms such "oil filter polluted" or "grease empty" alarms highlight needed preventative maintenance which if left unattended could result in repair high costs. Other alarms point to pending or immediate part failures which can directly affect the cranes viability for production.

The Crane Data System generates alarm summaries or custom reporting for easy review of alarm histories. Summary reports allow technicians to easily view trends of alarms on specific cranes and quickly sort through a large number of alarms to find the ones needing attention.

Each search result can easily be exported to Microsoft Excell or Microsoft Access. This allows personnel to easily move and manipulate both alarm and production data.
